Friends Workshop - Daniel Carter aka: Afroherp at Doeskin!

Friends of Balcones Canyonlands NWR are excited to bring this event to everyone at no charge!

Saturday. June 1st at Doeskin Ranch, rain or shine, in the new pavilion!

From 9 am -1 pm, come join Afroherp (AKA Daniel Carter) for an opportunity to learn about native reptiles.  Bring the kids! He will be showing some of his turtles, snakes, salamanders and lizards, while discussing their unique characteristics and explaining about their importance to our habitat. This event is an informal come and go format.  So come on out to Doeskin, learn a little about our native herps and then enjoy being out at the refuge with a hike, a picnic or a bit of birding.

The Friends are committed to building a diverse, vibrant community that appreciates, supports, and connects with nature in a meaningful way.

Join the Friends in protecting the wildlife and habitat, and supporting the mission of the Refuge. Start by taking a hike or  attending an event, by watching the seasons change through what’s blooming, or by just watching a hawk soar, or even just sitting still and listening to the songbirds sing.
